Haemato-Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant Super-Speciality Hospital | Critical Care | BMT

 

Angel Hospital, developed for Blood & Cancer Institute under the guidance of Dr.DharmeshVaghasiya, is an ongoing 1557 sqm super-speciality healthcare facility dedicated to Haemato-Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) services. The hospital is designed to integrate emergency care, specialist consultation, diagnostics, intensive care, apheresis, surgery and transplant services within a compact, vertically organised clinical environment.

AMRD’s planning approach focuses on establishing strong functional linkages between haemato-oncology OPD services, pathology and diagnostic laboratories, critical care units, apheresis facilities and BMT suites, while ensuring strict zoning between public circulation areas, inpatient care zones and highly controlled sterile transplant environments.

The ground floor accommodates the primary entry-level clinical and support functions, including Emergency with procedure room, pharmacy, VIP room, administration and pathology laboratory, ensuring immediate diagnostic and stabilisation capability at arrival.

The first floor is designed as the main outpatient and diagnostic interface, comprising reception and waiting areas, five OPDs and a sample collection room, enabling efficient patient flow for consultation, follow-up and investigations.

The second floor is dedicated to high-acuity care and specialised treatment support, including a six-bed ward, five-bed ICU, relatives’ dormitory and apheresis room, allowing close clinical coordination between intensive care and haemato-oncology treatment protocols.

The third and fourth floors accommodate shared and private inpatient rooms, providing structured recovery environments for patients requiring extended treatment cycles, chemotherapy support and post-procedure observation.

The fifth floor forms the critical procedural and transplant core of the hospital, comprising an operation theatre, two dedicated BMT rooms, CSSD and recovery area. The spatial adjacency between sterile services, OT, recovery and BMT units ensures a controlled, infection-sensitive workflow essential for immunocompromised transplant patients.

With a total built-up area of 1557 sqm and a planned capacity of 32 beds, the hospital is structured as a compact yet highly specialised facility. The design supports a complete continuum of care—from diagnosis and outpatient management to intensive care, apheresis, surgical intervention and bone marrow transplantation—within a single integrated clinical system.
