Located in Vadodara, Gujarat, Sagar Hospital is an ongoing 10-bed speciality hospital developed for Dr.Jayesh Shah. The hospital is conceived as a compact healthcare facility integrating Gynaecology, Cardiology, Paediatrics, Dietetics, maternity care, surgery and inpatient services within a vertically organised clinical environment spanning approximately 1000 sq.m. built-up area.
AMRD’s planning approach focuses on maintaining close relationships between outpatient consultation, maternity, surgical and recovery functions while ensuring a simple and efficient patient flow. The design prioritises clarity of movement, functional adjacency and separation of high-footfall clinical areas from inpatient zones. The OPD and therapeutic areas are also being planned for future expansion on the upper floors, allowing the hospital to accommodate evolving clinical requirements and increased patient volumes over time.
The ground floor accommodates the pharmacy and OPD areas for Gynaecology, Cardiology, Paediatrics and Dietetics, along with a two-bed labour room, two operation theatres, recovery room and family room, forming the primary clinical and procedural hub of the hospital.
The first floor is primarily dedicated to private patient rooms and administration, creating a quieter inpatient environment separated from the active clinical functions below and supporting short-stay recovery and observation.
The project demonstrates compact hospital planning by integrating consultation, labour, surgery, recovery and inpatient accommodation within a highly efficient footprint, while allowing for the future expansion of OPD and therapeutic services on the upper floors. Sagar Hospital is designed to provide focused and accessible speciality care while supporting both outpatient and short-stay hospital services in an urban context.
