Sandipani Oncosurgical Clinic – Dr. Harish Italiya is an ongoing 350 sq.m. surgical oncology speciality facility designed to support focused cancer care services including consultation, surgical intervention, critical care support and short-term inpatient recovery within a compact clinical footprint.

AMRD’s planning approach for the clinic is centred on establishing a clear and efficient clinical workflow between OPD consultation, pre-operative preparation, operation theatre, ICU and post-operative recovery spaces. The spatial organisation prioritises patient safety, sterility, and ease of movement for both patients and medical staff within a constrained built-up area.

The reception and waiting area, OPD consultation rooms and dressing/procedure room are positioned to form the primary patient interface zone. This ensures direct accessibility and smooth transition into clinical treatment areas while maintaining separation from sterile and restricted zones.

The surgical core of the facility is organised to include the operation theatre, ICU and supporting sterile services, ensuring close functional adjacency between surgery and critical care. This arrangement enables efficient post-operative monitoring and immediate clinical response when required.

The inpatient and recovery component is planned as a small, controlled ward environment, designed to support post-surgical observation and short-duration stays. The layout ensures patient comfort and privacy while maintaining proximity to the surgical and critical care zones.

Overall, the design of Sandipani Oncosurgical Clinic – Dr. Harish Italiya demonstrates how a compact 350 sq.m. oncology-focused facility can be efficiently structured to support end-to-end cancer care delivery, with clear zoning between outpatient services, surgical intervention, critical care and recovery, while maintaining operational efficiency and clinical safety.
