Oncology Super-Speciality Hospital | Radiation Oncology | Nuclear Medicine | Chemotherapy & Integrated Cancer Care

 

Located in Vadodara, Gujarat, Parul Oncology Center is an ongoing oncology super-speciality hospital being developed for Dr.Komal Patel over approximately 12,500sq.m. The centre is planned as a comprehensive cancer-care facility integrating radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, chemotherapy, surgical procedures, diagnostics, specialist consultations and inpatient care within a vertically organised clinical environment.

The client’s vision is to create a fully integrated oncology centre where patients can access advanced cancer diagnosis and treatment under one roof. The project enables seamless coordination between radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, chemotherapy, consultations, procedures and inpatient care, reducing the need for external referrals.

AMRD’s study and planning approach addresses the complex technical requirements of a modern oncology hospital. Key focus areas include radiation safety, bunker planning, nuclear medicine workflows, radioactive patient movement, equipment planning, chemotherapy protocols, departmental adjacencies, and clear segregation of public, clinical and controlled zones. The design ensures efficient circulation while accommodating multiple high-technology departments.

The ground floor serves as the primary diagnostic and treatment hub. It includes three radiation therapy bunkers, simulation facilities, a minor OT, 12 oncology OPDs, and a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Department with PET-CT and SPECT. This concentration of services strengthens the clinical linkage between consultation, imaging, treatment planning and radiation therapy.

The first floor is dedicated to cancer treatment and inpatient support. It houses iodine therapy facilities, a specialised chemotherapy room, chemotherapy ward, general ward and medical record room. The layout is designed to support controlled environments required for chemotherapy and radioiodine therapy patients.

The second floor extends into supporting medical specialties, accommodating a General Medicine ward and Respiratory Medicine ward, along with consulting rooms. It also includes a demonstration room and procedure room, enabling clinical training, consultations and minor interventions within the inpatient setting.

A defining feature of the project is the provision of three radiation bunkers, enabling robust radiation oncology capacity and future scalability. Their integration with simulation, OPDs and nuclear medicine establishes the ground floor as a highly specialised cancer treatment core.

The inclusion of PET-CT, SPECT and iodine therapy strengthens the nuclear medicine capabilities, supporting cancer diagnosis, staging, functional imaging and targeted therapy. Together with chemotherapy and inpatient services, this ensures continuity across the complete cancer-care pathway.

A key parameter of the project is its total capacity of 212 beds, distributed across oncology, general medicine, respiratory medicine, chemotherapy and supportive care units. This positions the facility as a large tertiary oncology hospital capable of managing high patient volumes with specialised care delivery.

Overall, Parul Oncology Center is a 12,500 sq.m. integrated oncology super-speciality hospital with 212 beds, combining radiation oncology, three bunkers, nuclear medicine, advanced imaging, chemotherapy, OPDs, procedures and inpatient care within a unified healthcare environment. Once completed, it is expected to significantly enhance specialised cancer-care infrastructure in Vadodara.
