Located in Surat, Gujarat, Veer Narmad Multispecialty Hospital is an ongoing 270-bedded multispeciality hospital being developed for Mr. Kadir Sheikh over approximately 11,400 sq.m. The hospital is integrated within an existing commercial building, occupying parts of the ground floor, first floor, and the 9th to 13th floors, requiring careful adaptation of a tertiary-care programme within a non-hospital structure.

The client’s vision is to deliver healthcare with high clinical standards, accessibility, and affordability, while strengthening advanced medical infrastructure, encouraging research, and upholding the principle of “Putting the Patient First.”

AMRD’s planning approach focused on converting disconnected floors into a cohesive hospital through strong vertical connectivity, clear departmental zoning, and efficient patient - staff movement, ensuring smooth integration of OPD, inpatient, critical care, and surgical services.The hospital supports a wide range of specialties including General Medicine, Surgery, OBGY, Paediatrics, Emergency, Critical Care, Anaesthesia, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Radiology, Dental, Psychiatry, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Urology, and Neurology, making it a comprehensive multispecialty centre.

The ground floor serves as the main entry and emergency level, housing reception, help desk, pharmacy, Emergency Department, and radiology, enabling direct access for high-priority cases. The first floor is the primary outpatient hub with 22 OPDs, administration, procedure rooms, a 7-bed day-care unit, and a 7-bed dialysis unit, designed to manage high patient volume efficiently.

The 9th floor is dedicated to Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, and Neonatology, including wards, twin-sharing rooms, labour room, Obstetric OT, NICU, PICU, and recovery areas, forming a focused mother-and-child care zone. The 10th and 11th floors accommodate general inpatient wards, while the 12th floor provides private patient rooms for enhanced privacy and comfort. The 13th floor is the surgical and critical-care core, featuring a seven-OT complex, supported by CSSD, SICU, MICU, HDU, and doctors’ lounge, ensuring strong integration between surgery and intensive care.

Overall, the project reflects AMRD’s expertise in adaptive healthcare design, transforming a commercial building into a vertically integrated 270-bed hospital with clear functional zoning and efficient clinical workflows. The project is currently on hold. Once completed, it will serve as a major healthcare facility in Surat, offering advanced, accessible, and patient-focused care.
